What are friends for?

On the stranger side of things for this friday, there was a report on George Chandler and Phil Kern of Shawnee, Kan., who had a weird accident while they were trying to free a stuck hose from a nail gun.

They realized the gun had discharged, but couldn’t find the nail at first.

Then Kern took a look at Chandler's head and saw the 2-1/2 inch nail had been driven into Chandler's skull, pinning the ball cap he was wearing to his head.

At the hospital, a doctor had to borrow a claw hammer from a maintenance worker to remove the nail, which narrowly missed vessels related to some very vital functions.

Chandler commented that he merely felt a sting when the nail hit him and "it never did really what you call hurt."

I’d say he should have bought a lottery ticket that day. Very few accidents like this would have ended with such a good outcome.
