Pelosi the fake

The democrat’s fearless leader once again has demonstrated her ignorance as well as her stubbornness to acknowledge that she just makes things up to fit her skewed view of the world.

On more than one occasion while talking about the environment, Pelosi would add in a spiritual twist: "The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.'"

Although it's a nice sounding line, it’s not in the Bible.

Many news stories have been written and many have tried to get answers from Pelosi’s office, but not surprising, they fail to return calls.

Biblical Scholars Challenge Pelosi's 'Scripture' Quote -- 04/23/2008

Nancy Pelosi criticized for using false “environmentalist” Bible quotation

Why is it that democrats want to justify many of their views using the bible all while condemning everyone else when they hold Christian beliefs?

What a fine example you provide of Christian love, charity and tolerance:

"...once again has demonstrated her ignorance as well as her stubbornness to acknowledge that she just makes things up to fit her skewed view of the world."

Yes! Let's promote disparaging others in the name of defending the True Word! Let's hate for Jesus!

God forbid someone tries to give a quote and misses it. Burn her at the stake, that heretic.

I would think you might appreciate a democrat trying to invoke religion into her decision making.

You say she has a "skewed view of the world." This from someone who rejects the theory of evolution despite the fact that it is accepted by mainstream science. From someone who espouses some of the most radical fundamentalist beliefs including the idea that the earth is only, say, 6000 or so years old and that dinosaurs and every other creature on earth managed to find a space on Noah's Ark.

Pelosi and other democrats who attempt to use religion only when it suits them are the hypocrites.

It is a sad thing to see and especially with the democratic candidate Obama touting his religion while attending the hate filled, radical, racist church that continually makes anti-american statements.

As far as evolution, there is much evidence to the contrary. Just because it is currently mainstream does not make it true.

I would advise you to go back and read the bible and learn about "tolerance"

Biblical teaching is very intelerant in many ways. There is only one way to salvation

This is actually a bit disingenuous.

First, Pelosi’s statement is not a quote from the Bible. She did not make that statement with great literal accuracy.

However, she did cite a very classic interpretation of Genesis 1:28.

Biblical translations vary on a word using, rulers, dominion, masters. The Hebrew rendering indicates mastery of and responsible for. The wording makes it conceptually control and responsibility over, but not ownership. Genesis (and the rest of the Bible) indicates that creation is God’s and always God’s.

Pelosi’s statement is very consistent with this. I’m not so sure I’d go as far as to way that a stewardship of God’s creation is an act of Worship, but I would say that it is very clear that we are responsible for God’s creation and caring for it. To not care for it truly is an act of showing dishonor for God.

I don’t think it matters who quotes the Bible, be it Democrat or Republican. Most of them use texts to validate their positions rather than to have the Bible help form their positions. The Republicans mastered this a while ago and the Democrats are starting to learn it. In the end, I strongly doubt that neither party would ever want Jesus to speak at their conventions. Both parties demonstrate good and bad, often in huge portion. Shakespeare said it well at the end of “Romeo and Juliet” decreeing, “All are punished. All are punished.”

A boilerplate ideological utterance, then a bunch o'anonymous, then a real person finally signs on to offer a rational, adult explanation.

New Albany in a nutshell.

Even though the majority of Americans are Christian, some folks in government and in the private sector prefer not to wear Christian beliefs on their sleeves
as it tends to squeeze out the diversity that God wants us to embrace.

The Republicans have taken advantage of exploiting the Bible and it's verses to push their narrow value's issues(gay rights, gun control, abortion) that seem to have polarized the country and misled the people from the real issues at hand. This tactic along with calmly catagorizing themselves as "moral" and the Democrats as "amoral", when this isn't even true. The Democrats realize that they too have values deeply rooted in Christianity, they just haven't give us their voice.

The honorable Speaker of the House should have called Rick Santorum. I sure he would have pointed her to a better verse in the Bible.
