A Man’s Right to Choose!

Here is an op-ed worth reading and contemplating with the following excert:

"Rather, Judge Alito's thinking about the role of men in reproductive decision-making is in keeping with how legal thinking needs to evolve in this age of readily available DNA testing."
[A Man's Right to Choose - New York Times].

I am curious what some of the “Progressive thinkers” here in New Albany think about this.

How do you rationalize your decision on this topic?

Are you willing to comment on this topic?

I don’t want legal opinions on how things stand at the present, but really how people take sides and their rationale for doing so.

This is just for open discussion!!

Interesting. I like your open discussion point. Many, myself included, can get so caught up in the details we lose sight of the real issue, problem, feeling, what-have-you.

Very busy today. Everyone can be happy that I will not clutter up the blog today.

It is interesting how when you allow for open comments there is virtually no one willing to make a stance with their views.

But if you make the first comment that has any tone of morality there is a tremendous backlash.

I wonder why that is???

Brandon, Wish you luck on your finals. I remember those days and always hoped I wouldn't need luck, but then again would never decline it if it came my way.

Your comments are interesting. I do not want you or anyone to say anything about a specific issue. Again, I want everyone to "think" about the underlying reason they do make their statements.

You nor anyone can make any statement or believe any certain way without an underlying belief. We cannot pigeon-hole our thinking. Everything we say and do is based on some belief system whether we admit it or not.

Health and healthcare cannot be separated from these value based decisions and thinking. Health defined is (1)The overall condition of an organism at a given time.
(2)Soundness, especially of body or mind; freedom from disease or abnormality.

If we really want to address problems with health, we have to consider physicial health, emotional health, psychological health and spiritual health. They all are interdependent.

Value judgements are part of everything whether it be the "sign grafitti" in New Albany, the sewer and sanitation issues, or todays blog. People need to think about why they make the decisions they do.

It all involves their health and our communities health!
